Wednesday was National Signing Day, a day where high school athletes are typically given the first opportunity to sign a letter of intent to play collegiate athletics at a school part of the NCAA. At West Branch High School, that meant it was Bears quarterback Beau Cornwell's day to sign with Monmouth College.

As he announced just a couple weeks ago, Cornwell committed to Monmouth College in Illinois to further his education and athletic opportunities. The 6'2 senior will play both football and basketball for the Fighting Scots, two sports he has succeeded in at West Branch High School.

On the football field, Cornwell holds several passing records including most completions and most passing yards in a single game, as well as most attempts, completions, yards, and touchdowns thrown in a single season.

On the court, Cornwell just recently became the school's all-time leading scorer with over 1,630 points in his career, a number which is still growing as the Bears' hoops season continues.

Congratulations to Beau for signing your letter of intent and best of luck with your college career once you graduate this Spring.
