YourPrepSports.com has announced their Area Football Team selections for the recently-concluded 2020 football season and three West Branch Bears have made the list.

Senior Gavin Hierseman has been named to the Utility position. "Earned all-state honors for the first time after passing for 1,422 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 62 percent of his passes as a senior. Also rushed for 181 yards and five scores." says Your Prep Sports.

Cael Fiderlein has been named as the team's kicker after a stellar kicking career at West Branch. "Connected on 4-of-8 field goal attempts including a 37 yarder and went 21-of-23 on PATs as a senior finishing his career 65-of-68 on extra point attempts and 11-of-15 on field goals."

Defensive end Jeff Bowie has been placed on the defensive line. "A two-time, first-team all-state selection the Iowa recruit closed his career with 130 tackles including 58.5 for loss and 26 sacks."
