Multiple Bears Make Iowa Preps' Preseason First Team All-State List

Three Bears make Iowa Preps' preseason all-state list.

Iowa Preps has released their class 1A preseason first team all-state lists for both offense and defense and three Bears have made the list.

On offense, quarterback Gavin Hierseman is one of three at his position to the make the list, with the others being Cooper Dejean from OABCIG and Colin Muller from Osage. In the 2019 season, Hierseman completed 107 of 172 passes and threw for 1550 yards and 19 touchdowns. When we spoke with Gavin recently, he pointed out he's looking to improve on that performance for the 2020 season.

On the defensive side, defensive end Jeff Bowie and linebacker Cael Fiderlein have made Iowa Preps' list. Bowie, a commit to the University of Iowa, tallied 44.5 tackles, 22 of which where for a loss, and 6.5 sacks in the 2019 season. Fiderlein lead the Bears in tackles with 55.5 during the 2019 season. The linebacker also tallied 2 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
