West Branch senior Tanner Lukavsky has shared on his Twitter account that he has received an invitation to partake in the 2020 Iowa Shrine Bowl festivities.

The 2020 Iowa Shrine Bowl game will be played on Saturday, July 18th, at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. Selected players, however, will report on Sunday, the 12th, for a week of camp and visits to some of the hospitals and centers the Shrine support. In lead up to the week of events, all players are expected to go out in their community and raise $1,000 for the Shrine hospital system. If you'd like to help the Lukavsky family with their money-raising efforts, more information will be available soon.

Tanner's invitation to the prestigious annual event comes on the heals of a great senior season on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side at the running back position, #32 rushed for 13 touchdowns and 1,214 yards on 187 attempts, good for 6.5 yards per carry. The senior also caught 24 passes for 362 yards and 5 touchdowns. On the defensive side, the linebacker racked up over 50 tackles, 6 of which were for a loss. In addition, Tanner tallied 3 interceptions, all of which were taken into the endzone for a touchdown, totalling 5 INT touchdowns for his career.

In October, Lukavsky accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Iowa State University and will be joining the Cyclone football team this fall.

Congratulations Tanner on your invitation!
