Going into Friday’s game at Bellevue, everyone across the state had their eye on this marquee matchup between two top-five ranked teams in Class 1A. Oh, and it was the opener to the 2018 District 4 schedule. There was a lot on the line.
For most of the game, the Bears and Comets ping-ponged possessions, turnovers, and scores with each team making big plays on both sides of the ball. In the end, however, Bellevue made the bigger plays when they mattered most and handed West Branch their first loss of the season, 28-20.
