The Iowa High School Athletic Association today announced schedules for all teams across the state for the upcoming 2018 football season, as well as the 2019 season.

In January of this year, the IHSAA announced Classifications and Districts for the 2018, 2019 seasons, letting the Bears know they are in District 4 and who their district games would be against. Today, however, we now know the dates and locations of those games as well as the team's non-district opponents.

The season kicks off on Friday, August 24th at the Little Rose Bowl against West Liberty and wraps up on Friday, October 19th in Dyersville against Beckman.

Of note, three of the Bears' first four games are against Class 2A teams. However, for the 2018 season, these three games will be at home. This schedule will likely provide an early test for the Bears during the non-District part of the schedule.

The full 2018 schedule:

  1. 8/24: West Liberty (2A)
  2. 8/31: @Wapello
  3. 9/7: Williamsburg (2A)
  4. 9/14: Tipton (2A)
  5. 9/21: @Bellevue
  6. 9/28: North Cedar
  7. 10/5: @Northeast, Goose Lake
  8. 10/12: Cascade
  9. 10/19: @Beckman

The schedule sees a few familiar opponents in West Liberty, Bellevue, and North Cedar; however a few new or unfamiliar opponents have entered in to the mix with Beckman, Cascade, and Williamsburg, to name a few.

The schedule for the 2019 season is the same opponents and order of games as the 2018 season; however, the locations of games will be reversed.
