Early Saturday morning, the Iowa High School Athletic Association announced the playoff qualifiers and pairings for all classes throughout the state, finally answering all teams' question of "What is our road to the Dome?".

In the first round on October 27th, the Bears will play host to the Pleasantville Trojans. The Trojans, out of District 5, finished the regular season at 7-2 overall and 5-2 in district play. Their district performance secured them the district's runner-up spot, edging out Interstate 35 and Woodward-Granger thanks to the 17-point Rule as there was a three-way tie for second place in the district.
